If a lifelong belief we are all born the same children of God is liberal, count me as a liberal.

I believe in justice for all, under the law, tempered by mercy.

One fact of the Kate Steinle case was undisputed.

The bullet that killed her was a ricochet off a rock.

And that gun was stolen two weeks earlier from a locked car, belonging to a police officer.

The five times deported illegal immigrant claimed he found the gun, and it went off. That is bull ****.  He pulled the trigger is why the gun went off.

But he shot a rock, not a girl.

If I’m superstitious it’s because I was raised up on sermons that sometimes Christ walks among us, dressed as a ragged beggar, to see how we treat Him.

When a jury acquitted that man, I believe the Master smiled.
