It took me quite a while to positively identify which black man was lynched, that Chris witnessed.
Chris always said they drug him from the train, which has to be John Harrison in 1922. Chris remembered the town as Harrison, but instead that was the man’s name, the town was Malvern.
He’d tell the story, the same way every time.
He said he never felt so helpless in his life.
