To answer, Russia has been making a move for a little over a decade now to take Greenland. They need that passage. It is the only passage that exists for them to access the North Atlantic. They have opened 50 of their military bases in the arctic and they are building subs that can bust through the ice undetected. They have not finished those subs, but they are building them. Trump wanting Greenland isn't an offensive move. It is defensive. Russia already made the first move. The counterargument is that Greenland is already protected by America's air force base there (Thule), and since Denmark is part of NATO, then Greenland is very well insulated with protection. However, NATO is America. Let's be honest. NATO depends on America 100% for pretty much everything. So when we hear NATO is involved, what that really means is that America will be doing all the work. If America gets Greenland, then there is a much higher chance that Russia will close their bases.

greenland alrrady lets the US put any base it wants. owning would give it no advantage whatsoever military wise.

Trump’s foreign policy is all about enriching his family & rich friends. It was his billionaire donor Ron Lauder, who has investments in Greenland, who told him to buy it. Now Trump risks the NATO alliance & war with Europe to pad his friend’s pockets. We can’t let that happen.
