WRONG...you wouldn't say stupid **** like this if you had any "hands on" experience.

Search Assist
In bright daylight, red dot sights can become difficult to see due to issues like reticle washout, where the brightness of the dot is insufficient compared to the surrounding light. To improve visibility, increase the brightness setting to maximum and consider using anti-reflective coatings or a honeycomb filter to reduce glare.
Now go play  with your make believe Black Ops Commando video games  some place else....... Image

On 2/24/2020 at 11:08 AM, Mcfoto said:It’s a 6. Wasn’t an issue once the sun got up a bit. Just that first thing, sun raising over the berm right in your face.
Seems most if not all brands will reflect the sun off the emitter and cause some sort of an issue. In my experience the SRO will show multiple dots but they seem to be separate dots and may be easier to tell the difference between the two. While the DPP seems to just light up a large portion of the lens and it’s more difficult to be able to find the right dot/spot to use for aiming. I’ve only had it happen a time or two during a match but it’s been inconvenient. Early morning and bays facing east do not play well with dots.

Image you have no real world experience.  Image   Image
the camera makes it appear this way, it is a well defined red dot  Image

Yes, a camera—particularly a smartphone camera—significantly alters how a Red Dot Sight (RDS) appears in a photo compared to how it looks to the human eye.
Cameras often make the reticle appear larger, more distorted, blurry, or "bloomed" (starburst effect), even if the dot is perfectly crisp to your eye.

The Vortex Defender-CCW red dot provides excellent visibility in direct, bright sunlight, featuring 8 to 10 daylight-specific brightness settings depending on the model (standard vs. enclosed solar). Users report the dot remains bright and clear, even when facing the sun directly.   Image   Image
Performance in Sunlight
  • Visibility: The 3 or 6 MOA dot is designed to be highly visible against bright backgrounds.
  • Brightness Adjustments: The optic features 10 total settings (8 daylight/2 NV) for the standard model, or 12 total (10 daylight/2 NV) for the Enclosed Solar model.
  • Bright Sun Settings: Users have found that settings 5-6 are sufficient for high-afternoon sun.
Additional Features
  • Durability: Features a hard-anodized, low-glare finish and a ruggedized structure.
  • Dot Clarity: The optic uses high-quality glass to minimize distortion.
  • Battery Life: The standard model offers approximately 9,500 hours on setting 6, while the solar model features a side-mounted tray.

"There are many dangers we face in many different forms. The self-defense world has changed dramatically throughout the last 10 years, with those changes leading to huge advancements in equipment. One of the most notable is the miniaturizing of pistol-mounted optics, or micro-red-dot sights (MRDS). Their popularity is growing and shows no signs of slowing down. While there is tremendous fanfare for them, I remind students that aiming is one of the easiest of shooting skills. When you transition from iron sights or start off using a MRDS, there will be some growing pains. One of the biggest complaints with the MRDS is what happens when you can’t see the dot. Here are three tips to help you in this situation: corrective strategies, backup iron sights and down optic."   Image
