If that were the case why is trump so desperate to restrict voting rights? Republicans should have elections in the bag right?
He knows come November his time is up. The only way republican lawmakers can haul themselves out of becoming an afterthought is to bring impeachment charges on him soon after the midterms. They will have lost their majority and will try to save themselves by throwing trump under the bus.

Removing ineligible registrations protects future elections, and prosecuting those who knowingly violate election law punishes offenders, but neither can retrieve an unlawful ballot after it has been counted and incorporated into a certified election result.
Every unlawful ballot counted dilutes the weight of ballots lawfully cast by eligible American citizens.
At the same time, voters themselves are demanding stronger safeguards. Reasonable people can debate the details of how that verification should work and how best to protect naturalized citizens from erroneous removal. But ensuring only citizens are able to vote should not be controversial.
Election officials should know whether an applicant is eligible before adding that person to the voter rolls, not years later after another audit, another prosecution, or another election “glitch.”
States are proving that voter-roll maintenance works because they are finding invalid registrations. They deserve credit for doing so.
But cleanup is not prevention.
The real measure of election integrity is not the number of post-hoc removals for ineligible registrations but whether such ineligible registrations are prevented in the first place.
The SAVE America Act offers the preventive answer: Citizenship verification before registration, rather than prosecution after an illegal ballot has already been cast."

The Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Wednesday restored parts of a 2021 Texas election law that reformed the state's regulations regarding mail-in ballots and assisted voting.
The law had faced several lawsuits over accessibility concerns, which were consolidated into a single law, The Texas Tribune reported, and a district judge blocked nine of the law's provisions. These blocked provisions included requiring Texas voters to provide an identification or social security number on mail-in ballot applications, which were required to match state records.
The judge also blocked rules that created processes for curing defective ballots and required voters and those who assist them in filling out their applications to sign an oath swearing they didn't coerce the voter and disclosing how the assistant and voter are related. The lawsuit argued these provisions were burdensome and restrictive for voters with disabilities.
In its ruling Wednesday, the Fifth Circuit reversed the lower court's ruling entirely, finding that the plaintiffs lacked standing on most of their complaints.
In a post on X, Texas Attorney Ken Paxton called the ruling a "major win upholding election integrity and preventing voter fraud."
"My office will continue to defend Texas’s critical laws safeguarding our elections," Paxton said.
