The U.S. economy cooled sharply at the end of 2025, with growth slowing to an annual rate of 1.4 percent, as tariffs and a weeks-long government shutdown sapped its earlier momentum.

Overall, the economy expanded by 2.2 percent last year, lower than the 2.8 percent growth the year before, according to new data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

It was a 6-3 decision.

They spent all this time trying to get a third Justice to take the heat off their two entirely compromised colleagues.

They actually argued about the cost of unwinding Grafty's mess.

It's a **** **** show....roll it all back.

Listen, Slack Jaw, you are leaving out the most important context from the BEA report, which makes your whole argument look like you skimmed the headline and decided that was enough. The slowdown to 1.4 percent in the final quarter came from short‑term factors like tariff adjustments and a brief government shutdown, not from any structural weakness in the economy. For the full year, the economy still grew by 2.2 percent, barely below the previous year’s 2.8 percent, while unemployment stayed low and consumer spending kept rising. The United States also continued to outperform most major economies, which you conveniently ignore. One quarter doesn’t erase a year of steady expansion. The full report shows continued growth, not the collapse, Slack Jaw.

Yes, Grafty is in the process of drilling the dog....his policies are a drag on what was for some time described as a "resilient economy".

All those metrics you insisted don't matter are flashing red.

it is about 200 billion that must be refunded...

That will blow a hole in Big Beautiful ****.

The trio warned of immediate chaos over refunds and trade deals. They also provided President Trump with a list of other possible avenues for imposing tariffs.

“The United States may be required to refund billions of dollars to importers who paid the IEEPA tariffs, even though some importers may have already passed on costs to consumers or others,” Justice Kavanaugh wrote, referring to an acronym for the 1970s emergency statute Mr. Trump invoked to impose tariffs. He noted discussion at oral arguments about how such a refund process was likely to be a “mess.”

He also noted that the administration had used the leverage of tariffs to enter into key trading deals with other nations. Mr. Trump, he wrote, “helped facilitate trade deals worth trillions of dollars — including with foreign nations from China to the United Kingdom to Japan, and more.”

He laid out several potential pathways for the president to impose tariffs, adding that these other federal statutes “might justify most (if not all) of the tariffs at issue in this case.” He added, however, that those statutes might require additional steps that the emergency law Mr. Trump has so far cited does not.

He listed specific sections of several federal laws, including the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, the Trade Act of 1974, and the Tariff Act of 1930, writing that the majority had concluded that “the president checked the wrong statutory box” by relying on the emergency law.

ibid.

WTF?

Is he filing a dissent or an amicus brief?

Why does he insist on coddling the idiotic manchild?
