Thomas Jefferson argued that the Constitution should act as a "living document" by advocating that each generation, roughly every 19 years, should have the right to revise or create a new constitution. He believed the earth belongs to the living, not the dead.

Thomas Jefferson famously wrote a letter to James Madison in 1789 in which he said that the earth belongs to the living, the earth belongs to the living, not to the dead. This letter is frequently quoted in favor of interpreting the Constitution as a living, breathing document.
And MADISON shot him down saying that a "temporary" document would result in mass confusion and a end to the Republic. AND that provisions were in the Constitution to change it, be it SLOWLY AND WITH GREAT THOUGHT REQUIRED TO DO SO!!
Now, GO **** YOUR STUPID PIECE OF **** SELF AND SHUT THE **** UP!! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CONSTITUTI)ONAL HISTORY YOU G'DAMN IDIOT!!
I met one of Jefferson's advisors...jerrab » 27 Feb 2026, 5:40 pm » wrote: ↑ jefferson was the one who said the constitution was a living document, dumb ***.

Thank you. Gee, not predictable at all.
Since my answer doesn't matter because I know you just want to win a stupid chat how about you take the win. Pouring more and more side issues and irrelevant comparisons is a ploy.
As it is I can barely tolerate your persona, champ. You are for violence. No biggie.

Are you a brainwashed or sumpin?
You want me to be a fellow Trump-hater. I'd have to dig pretty hard to find that personal injustice.
So far all you people have is stuff that could easily be attributed to any number of politicians.
Sorry, but . . . snoozers . . .
How's about you try to "bookend" Trump administrations with another token asswipe like Bammy?
If Joe the **** had done anything good, I would have been supportive. He was president.
Same with Bammy the Opaque.
Do you have the character necessary to look past your brainwash-induced hatred to do that?
You haven't shown that quality so I can only assume you are a partisan hack. Prove me wrong.
