I don't make the news, son. I just report it.
AI Overview

Since 2008, Europe has experienced slow, volatile economic growth, marked by stagnation and underperformance compared to the U.S

EU GDP grew by only ~13.5% between 2008 and 2023, while the U.S. grew by 87%. Following the 2008 financial crisis, the Eurozone debt crisis, COVID-19, and energy shocks caused near-zero growth in many nations, creating a "lost decade".
AI Overview

The EU economy has experienced slow but resilient growth since 2023, avoiding a major recession despite high inflation, energy crises, and the Russia-Ukraine war. Following a sluggish 0.4%–0.5% growth in 2023, the economy saw a slight recovery in 2024 (approx. 1.0%–1.1%) and 2025 (approx. 1.5%), with 2026 growth forecasted to remain moderate.

Our failures are bipartisan though.

The radio guy calls the opposition "DemCons" and points fingers constantly at progressive "democratic communist socialists" are the problem.

It was enlightening to hear a conservative get on his show and say pointing that finger is not going to win his side votes.  MAGA is figuring out their base is in the basement. There is some progression within MAGA.

BV, I reallly never understood what critical thinking was..  And I know enough to know I may never fullly understand it.  But I do appreciate the wisdom you share.

One lib was pissed at Spanbergers meek response to  his SOTU..  Politically, MAGA is flipping like Pancakes at IHOP.   Being a Nasty Girl ain't going to help. How we ever reconcile this canyon between us is becoming an Evil Knievel Snake River Canyon Jump.

We're cherry picking 2025 - a year which belongs to Biden according to mainstream economic theory?

That's just stupid.

I was commenting on your CHART. It hides europe's failures by including them with the east andf global south.

Which "mainstream economic theory" argues that capital markets price backwards?

None. It's not what Isaid.

What I referenced is that the policies of the outgoing president are generally considered to get the credit or blame for the economy in a transition year.

You understand these things when it is convenient.

The shortest route is to point out that the focus of THIS OP is the performance of equity markets since January, 2025.

Sounds like a LOAD of CRAP to me... The REST of the world is:

1)  A FRACTION of Economic Power of what Americas is !

2)  Nations like China, Russia, and others HIDE and LIE about their economies (but are NOT challenged) !

3)  America's economy HAS BEEN, and will continue to be, the GOLD STANDARD for the WORLD ! and THAT is why the WORLD envies us !

4)  HAVE YOU NOTICED... that ALL the REST of the world are willing to ACCEPT Trumps tariffs? ...and WHY?  BECAUSE it's a SMALL PRICE to pay to have access to the AMERICAN consumer, and the LARGEST Free market in the WORLD !!

5)  ..and "BS statistics" and Democrat LIES... will NOT change that !

AMERICA, and AMERICANS, NEED to WAKE up… There is NOTHING “Democratic” about the CURRENT American “Democrat Party”! THEY are more an amalgamation of Totalitarian Marxists, Socialists, Communists, and Globalists… who are BENT on TAKING, and then KEEPING power... & where ultimately the American PEOPLE will have NO SAY AT ALL in how we are GOVERNED... and our "Democracy" will be DEAD!!
