Ukraine is not in NATO.  I am not of the belief there were ever any plans to stage an assault or deterrence at Ukraines border. You certainly have more intel than I do. I am not rejecting your premise, and only offer my persepective for fair debate.  If Russia would coordinate with NATO the world could be a better place.  The ruble has not changed in value for a long time. The fall in value preceding Putin's efforts is still there.
