You do know what selective availability is? We can end up in the middle of the Atlantic at a flick of a switch.  People do not know how to read paper maps anymore.

I think the drones now have VFR and can autonomously triangulate their location based on preloaded map data.  Beacon drones can do the job and help autonomous low cost lethal drones with the targeting solution.

In any event,  I did hear that Ukraines drones do not need GPS. The have a Balusha Drone..  X Wing Fighter about 8 foot wing span and can deliver a 3.6 kg warhead in a range of about 60 miles..  Bad azz!  Sominchus on YouTube brings the successes to view.  I saw footage yesterday of a Russian Bunker getting a hole blown in it  (with three personnel standing next to it) and then a second drone targeting right through the hole into the bunker.  I am career expereinced in that business and it was truly amazing to see the sophistication of the attack.

Neccessity is the Mother of Invention. Ukraine has developed $2K drone interceptors.   We were begging with them to share their tech but the Iranians already scored big.
