We are oil independent. Why are our prices set by the rest of the world? Why don't we set our own price? There is no shortage. It feels like we are held hostage by the rest of the world. Get oil prices off the market set by coked up smart guys day trading.

The oil companies in America price them according to the global market because they can. Yes, we have our own oil, but they are still owned by private companies, not the US government. The only way for the US to price our own oil is if we nationalize it. Not a good idea. That is the first step to socialism.

Maybe if, instead of sucking so hard on the tit, you had asked yourself what this "energy independent" thing actually meant...

"They are private." - Level.1

"The only way...." - Not Even Level.1.

Post exactly what you are struggling with...though nobody else appears to be having trouble.
"The only way...." - Not Even Level.1.
Actually, it's level 2:

Level 2 of Bloom’s Taxonomy, Understanding (formerly Comprehension), involves grasping the meaning of information, moving beyond mere recall to interpret, summarize, and explain concepts. It demonstrates comprehension through translating, organizing, or classifying information, allowing learners to explain "how" or "why" in their own words.

It can't be Level 2..

It's false.

I would ask you to prove it, but we both know how you are with questions and backing up your claims, so I won't even bother.

A US ban on oil exports is a frequently debated policy, often suggested during high energy prices to lower domestic gasoline costs, though experts argue it could backfire by tightening global supply and increasing prices. While Congress has allowed for such restrictions during national emergencies, the Biden administration has previously weighed these measures, and the idea resurfaces when fuel prices climb

Copies/pastes because he has no thoughts. Puke

That says nothing about what I said. You typed in some related prompt without actually paying any mind to what you were typing. Did you even read your copy/paste?

Why do you post random facts, then say you proved something?

Watch how easy that is: 2 + 2 = 4. Wow. That is definitely a fact, but it has hardly anything to do with the conversation. Your "facts" have nothing to do with the OP's question.

Why should oil be a traded commodity? Let competition decide the price. Each company set their own prices. Competition will drive prices down.
