Hate speech was also written on one of the firearms used, the source said. A photo captured from the scene of where the suspects were located showed one of their bodies on the ground and a shotgun next to the vehicle. There was also a gas can with an “SS” sticker on the side.It appears the “SS” may have represented the Schutzstaffel, the paramilitary organization led by Heinrich Himmler under the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler.

True....the motive can be sick, no doubt.

It is a private university...as I said.

I understand your hostility to higher education and research, but someone must develop and design the things you people sacrifice so much to take from place to place...

Brown pulls in about $254 million a year in federal research money. Private school or not, taxpayers are absolutely funding a big chunk of their operation........my tax dollars being wasted.

Brown isn’t even a top‑50 federal research recipient. They’re pulling in $254M a year while the big dogs are pulling billions. So yeah — as far as I’m concerned, my tax dollars are being wasted on a private Ivy that isn’t even in the top tier. Every Ivy League school outranks Brown in federal research funding. Brown is basically the bargain‑bin Ivy when it comes to taxpayer money — yet it still pulls $254M a year.  Image   Image   Image   Image   Image

  Top Tier (Billions)
  1. Johns Hopkins — $3.4B
  2. University of Washington — $1.6B
  3. University of Michigan — $1.1B
  4. UC San Diego — $1.1B
  5. Stanford — ~$1.0B
Upper Tier (Hundreds of Millions)
  1. Harvard — ~$900M
  2. Duke — ~$700M
  3. Yale — ~$600M
  4. Columbia — ~$600M–$700M
  5. UPenn — ~$600M
  6. UCLA
  7. UC San Francisco
  8. University of Pittsburgh
  9. University of Wisconsin–Madison
  10. University of North Carolina
  11. University of Minnesota
  12. Cornell — ~$400M–$500M
  13. Texas A&M
  14. Ohio State
  15. Georgia Tech
  16. MIT — ~$800M
  17. University of Arizona
  18. University of Colorado Boulder
  19. Penn State
  20. University of Florida
  21. University of Maryland
  22. University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign
  23. Washington University in St. Louis
  24. Emory University
  25. Vanderbilt University
Mid‑Tier (Still Ahead of Brown)
  1. Princeton — ~$200M–$250M
  2. Dartmouth — ~$200M
  3. University of Iowa
  4. University of Utah
  5. Indiana University
  6. University of Virginia
  7. University of Chicago
  8. Carnegie Mellon
  9. University of Southern California
  10. Northwestern University
  11. Rutgers
  12. Virginia Tech
  13. University of Kansas
  14. University of Kentucky
  15. University of Nebraska
  16. University of Tennessee
  17. University of Alabama Birmingham
  18. Oregon State
  19. Colorado State
  20. University of South Florida
…and dozens more, all above Brown’s $254M mark.📌 Bottom LineBrown is nowhere near the top. It sits around rank 70–80, meaning 70+ universities receive more federal research money than Brown every year.
