NYC Mamdani says his administration will transfer ownership from bad landlords to non-profits or tenants. ...“For buildings that have suffered chronic neglect, we will work to transfer ownership to responsible stewards. Stewards that include community land trusts, non-profits, or even the tenants themselves.”
hmmmm... so NYC has imposed YEARS of rent control on private property owners, make it IMPOSSIBLE for the property owners to fix and upgrade the properties in the most expensive city in America... AND THEN, CONFISCATE the property for a lack of Maintenance?
WHAT IS THIS... if not RAW COMMUNIST TOTALITARIANISM ? I think what we can expect is YEARS of Legal battles (which if the courts are honest they will lose), NOT TO MENTION even MORE NY and NYC Government FRAUD, WASTE, and ABUSE !!
I give NYC 5-10 years and it will be a TOTAL BASKET CASE !!

YOU are a MORON... MANY of those NYC buildings are under RENT control... and have been under rent control for so long that they don't provide enough income to allow it to be properly maintained... NYC is quite probably one of the most EXPENSIVE cities in the world, and that includes MAINTENANCE. SO, NYC SOCIALISTS have CREATED the scenario where the property is NOT cost effective to maintain... AND THEN TAKE the property if it's NOT maintained?
YEP, that sounds like SOCIALIZM... and I SURE AM GLAD I don't live in NYC... ALSO, I have a feeling there are fewer and fewer people who WILL be willing to live there in the VERY NEAR future !

When you are mandated to rent to *** and mandated to charge only what they can pay and mandated to do nothing if they can't pay, how much do you think is in the budget for maintenance?
