The Trump administration’s immigration surge into US cities last year resulted in 668,000 job losses, creating a “chilling effect” that pervaded local economies, hurt businesses and affected American-born workers.

Industries that traditionally employ a large share of undocumented migrants saw the biggest impact, but employment in sectors like arts and entertainment also fell sharply as businesses cut staff due to decreased consumer activity.

The study estimated that between 51,000 and 297,000 of the lost jobs would have been held by American-born workers, as businesses that rely partly on immigrant workers scaled back operations for everyone, including US-born employees.

No, it doesn't..

You never get it....

But if you insist, we can make the number of "native" employment opportunities destroyed 668,000.

There is no context in which you should play with numbers..

The U.S. economy in 2025 added millions of jobs...month after month...according to BLS data. Even the Federal Reserve notes that monthly payroll growth averaged around 214,000 in the years leading up to 2025.

Agreed…intangible numbers equate to specious claims…

In the early 1950s, as many as 96% of prime working-age American men, who were between the ages of 25 and 54, were working full or part-time, per the Bureau of Labor Statistics. As of March, about 86% of working-age men were employed, and this cohort's employment rate has lagged behind many developed countries in recent years, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development found...
