In fact I still got his old Green Organic Gardening book

anyway....organic gardening has changed dramatically....it's all about how much organic gardening supplies you buy and use.

Tree trimmers supply me with free wood chips....Lawn Care guys supply me with free bagged grass and leaves from their customers...other wise they have to pay to dump it

I have a compost pile as big as a bus and I turn it  every week.  That's my fertilizer and soil additive....haven't had to use real fertilizer of any kind for years

Haven't even had to buy and use approved organic gardening stuff....

I would never pay for "Organic" stuff in the market...it's a scam....they do things that the original organic garden people would never do.

But they have bought and paid for the supplies that the government says is approved for the produce to be classified organic

don't follow the rules and buy the **** required....you can't overcharge customers to your organic produce

by those standards a caveman 10,000 years ago wouldn't qualify for his squash to be called organic

This seems like a good thread to discuss this.  You will have to explain what mess you are talking about.  Here are the facts:

1.  In 2022 I was in Boston for about 6 days.

2.  After years of threats from I decided to tell you I was there and you could meet me in Boston, about 33 miles from you.  I did not tell you where I was staying until almost 2 years later.

3.  You decided not to show up

     We do. Lots of Amish meat available here.
   I hunt and fish though so a lot of our meat is wild. 
  But beef,chicken and pork products all come from the Amish. Along with dairy products like cheese and butter. They like to trade too. They love fresh fish but they aren't that great at catching it. I can catch more fish than we need.
 My gun belt is custom made from their ultra thick harness leather at their harness shop.
 I get my boots from the Amish boot shop. Work boots,hunting boots,hiking boots and cowboy boots. And when it's time to resole the harness guy is also a cobbler. Plus he makes and repairs riding saddles. Got one 2 years ago for my Percheron and it's beautiful. Took him 8 months but he's a busy guy. Hell even my dog's collar and leash came from there.

Not too big on game, but fish is #1 any day of the week

You riding a draft horse?  I had a couple of clients who road Clydesdales...they were big people

one a regular horse they looked like they were riding a pony.

Yeah, I'm aware that organic doesn't strictly mean what people think it means - but I'm not eating conventional taters.
