I never realized this until it was too late but back in the early 2010s, a lot of these "coding bootcamps" popped up. The concept seemed questionable and I expressed skepticism when a friend went into one of them.

Well it turns out I was the retard as he is doing better than me. The beauty of time is it settles all disputes and judges the incontrovertible winner.

Some enterprising SWEs got into companies that IPO'ed and have 5-20 M in their account. 

It's too late to for me to do anything regarding that gold rush, but I get to pick up the scraps by shorting the Ponzi soon. I guess that counts for something...

We don't always make the best choices for ourselves. The two friends I helped with high school math both became CPA's. One spent 20 years working for the Saudi government and the other spent 40 years at Montana Power. They did really well. (There is no way in hell I could have sat at a desk for that many years)

Are you thinking AI will make your job obsolete? I really don't know what you do.
