Why would I argue over influence peddling when it is SOP for literally every government on this planet.Cannonpointer » Yesterday, 12:20 pm » wrote: ↑ Not really. But it WAS my last vote.
It appears you missed my argument, since you did not address it.
A meme coin costs nothing and sells for something. Something for nothing has a tinny ring. There is every reason to suspect that institutional investors in a trump coin would have SOME kind of payback in mind. The suggestion I made and am making is that a meme coin seems as fit vehicle for influence peddling.
Here, here wait. Just do this:
Pretend Obama did it.
Are we done?
Yeah, there's nothing FALSE about your argument. But it overlooks the fact that the more the appearance of impropriety is allowed to rub itself in our faces, the more debased our republic becomes.Fuelman » 4 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Why would I argue over influence peddling when it is SOP for literally every government on this planet.
Scream at the sky!
I was merely pointing out what Trump has done has already been done concerning the meme coin and perfectly legal.Trump said so himself!
Sure, I'll admit to being jaded by much of the shenanigans.Cannonpointer » 22 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Yeah, there's nothing FALSE about your argument. But it overlooks the fact that the more the appearance of impropriety is allowed to rub itself in our faces, the more debased our republic becomes.

Mainly because very, very few ever get prosecuted and go to jail.
I'm all for changing that. Who's going to do it? I have no idea.
It may very well be time for a convention of the Sates and address our shortcomings in the Republic.
No *** allowed in those meetings!
