Meanwhile Canada's burning down. Again.
All that carbon "stored in the trees" is released. Such ****.

We, as a country, have cleaned up pretty good. To truly battle pollution, a sincere **** would be looking a bit more globally instead of bellyaching at the clean part of the garbage pile.
But, it's safer and easier to whine in America.

Humanity burns 1.47 trillion gallons of liquid hydrocarbons a year. That's 181 gallons each for 8.1 Billion souls.  It sounds a reasonable number.

A gallon of gasoline weighs 6.8 lbs. When combusted 20 lbs of CO2 is produced,

1.47 trillion gal/yr*20 lbs co2/gal = 29.4 trillion pounds of CO2/yr. -13.3 Gigatons

Volcanoes make 1 GT a year on an active year. Forest Fires make 2 GT a year.

Anyone who denies anthropogenic effects on climate is a fool. There would be no Oxygen in the air if photosynthesis by plant life hadn't  occured. Humans are changing the balance. We crossed 400 PPM CO2 in the atmosphere in 2010 after Mother Nature had it regulated to under that for 800,000 years. Today we are at 430 ppm and climbing, we increased 30ppm in 15 years. CO2 absorbs infrared radiation, more of it in the air, more heat absorption. The industrial revolution coincided with the increased slope.

Drill Baby Drill Burn Baby Burn is going to fry this planet like an egg on drugs in a pan for our descendants.

I don't always stay cool. But when I do math helps.

I told a guy the other day that I've been conditioning my lungs for this exact scenario since I was 9. That's when I started smoking. 13 for weed.
Between the weed and tobacco smoke in my lungs there's little room for wood smoke and ash.

Good take on "greenhouse effect".

It is in the same area of why the models cannot reliable predict the actual effect of the oceans' reflectivity.
Also, I don't think people will even understand what he means by the atmosphere acting like a heat sink rather than an insulating layer. People will mentally gloss over that very fundamental difference. That alone crushes their narratives.
Porta Johnny thinks he has it all settled... I like to learn stuff once in a while. ;)

This puts Johnny’s gnashing to bed…

"Total human CO2 emissions primarily from use of coal, oil, and natural gas and the production of cement are currently about 5.5 GT C per year (giga tons of carbon per year). A recent update says 8.6 GT.

"To put these figures in perspective, it is estimated that the atmosphere contains 780 Gt C; the surface ocean contains 1,000 Gt C; vegetation, soils, and detritus contain 2,000 Gt C; and the intermediate and deep oceans contain 38,000 Gt C, as CO2 or CO2 hydration products.

Each year, the surface ocean and atmosphere exchange an estimated 90 Gt C; vegetation and the atmosphere, 100 Gt C; marine biota and the surface ocean, 50 Gt C; and the surface ocean and the intermediate and deep oceans, 40 Gt C."

Notice that the oceans exchange ten times as much carbon with the atmosphere as humans produce (90GT vs. 8.6 GT). Exchange means regulation. And humans only add 1% as much CO2 to the atmosphere per year as already in it. If such a miniscule amount were as critical as propagandists claim, all life would have been destroyed long ago. Nature hasn't been sitting on a 1% knife edge for millions of years.  :ninja:

in a nutshell,

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC) is not science. It is designed by politicians for political purposes with the result being dictated by politicians. Any real scientists who get involved either quit in disgust or are kicked out for criticizing the process.
