When we trained the Bahranians, their crew didn't even know what an aileron was.

I think even propellor rubber banded balsa wood planes were illegal there.  It's inteeresting that no one sells them any more. No Guitars or telescopes in Walmart. Anything that promotes gain of brain function is banned.

Speaking of Assymetric Warfare....   This popped up onn my feed this week.  I actually ran the one on a stand that was bigger 20 years ago.
Bullets in Microsoft Word Documents can teach people how to build their own missile.
It would be a hell of a lot more fun to go like stink for the thrill...

“As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms.”

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every country in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops.”
– Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, October 10, 1787

Squatch might kill me.. Debate is debate..  I can try and argue the other side.

The primary arguments for gun control center on public safety, reducing homicide and suicide rates, and establishing that the Second Amendment allows for reasonable regulation. You can explore comprehensive overviews and research on these positions through resources like the Britannica Gun Control Debate and Everytown Research & Policy. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Public Safety and Death Reduction
  • Lowering Overall Fatalities: Proponents argue that stricter laws directly correlate with fewer gun-related deaths, pointing to data showing higher rates of homicide and suicide in areas with weak firearm restrictions. [1, 2]
  • Mitigating Impulsive Suicides: Access to a firearm triples the risk of death by suicide because a gun turns an impulsive moment of crisis into a fatal event. [1, 2]
  • Reducing Domestic Homicide: Studies indicate that domestic abusers with access to a firearm are significantly more likely to kill their intimate partners. [1]
Legal and Constitutional Basis
  • Regulation is Constitutional: Advocates emphasize that the Second Amendment is not an unlimited right and that the U.S. Supreme Court acknowledges the government's authority to enact public safety regulations. [1, 2]
  • Commonsense Measures: Broad majorities of the public—including many gun owners—support universal background checks, safe storage laws, and preventing high-risk individuals from acquiring weapons. [1, 2]
Would you like me to draft a persuasive essay or talking points on this topic? If so, let me know:
  • What specific aspect of gun control you want to focus on (e.g., background checks, assault weapons, red flag laws)
  • The desired tone (e.g., academic, emotional, policy-focused)
  • The target audience (e.g., general public, lawmakers, a debate class)

I really don't have time to look for Great Arms Controls Quotes.. I don't oppose 2A rights.  I am glad the citizen helped at the in and out.  The police could have mistaken him and taken him out.  Active Shootings are life changing events if you survive or perish.

Every day, nearly 130 Americans are killed with guns, and more than 200 are shot and wounded. There are a lot of widespread myths and conflicting information about guns, gun violence, and gun safety laws in America. To set the record straight, we’ve developed a series of graphics to help you “fork over the facts” and dispel some of the most prominent myths about gun violence.

It was also criticized by those on this forum.  I criticized it.  The context wasn't guns in general but taking them from unstable people without due process.

The responsibility  of a weapon is intense.

I  can count 3 suicides by firearm in my experience.

One was very tragic.  Father of three. Working stress of radiology  during COVID..  Relationship  stress.. It was so unexpected...
