Graduate level economics, JuCo...

Not everyone is as **** ignorant as you.

[Kenneth Arrow]
was an American economist who co-won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1972 for his pioneering contributions to general economic equilibrium theory and welfare theory. [1, 2, 3]

## Contributions to Health EconomicsWhile Arrow is famous for general equilibrium and his "Impossibility Theorem," his 1963 landmark paper, Uncertainty and the Welfare Economics of Medical Care, effectively founded the entire field of health economics. [4, 5, 6, 7]  *

Market Failure: He argued that healthcare cannot operate like a standard competitive market due to pervasive uncertainty (not knowing when you will get sick) and asymmetric information (doctors knowing more than patients). [8, 9]
*

Inelasticity Connection: This uncertainty and the vital necessity of care are what structurally drive the price inelasticity of healthcare demand. Patients cannot easily reduce consumption when prices rise, creating a unique economic environment that justifies insurance markets and government intervention

Medical Professionals don't give a **** what some economist has to say on the matter. They live in the real world, not some theory.

Most healthcare practitioners are highly resistant to taking a pay cut to fund Medicare for All, though their overall willingness heavily depends on whether a single-payer system would actually lower their incomes or just reduce their administrative overhead.

Current Financial Pressures
The debate occurs at a time when physicians report being at a financial breaking point due to ongoing, incremental adjustments to the standard Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. Independent practices have faced consecutive years of conversion factor and practice expense cuts from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which do not keep pace with inflation or overhead costs like rent and salaries. Because current Medicare reimbursement already pushes thin-margin practices into financial distress, the prospect of a mandatory, system-wide shift to these rates creates deep apprehension across the medical community.

Concerns Over Income Reductions
Many doctors and medical groups oppose Medicare for All proposals because they often dictate that healthcare provider payments be set at standard Medicare reimbursement rates. On average, current Medicare rates are roughly 40% lower than the rates paid by private health insurance. Because independent practices and hospitals rely on private insurance to subsidize their Medicare losses, a shift to a single-payer system utilizing standard Medicare rates could jeopardize their financial sustainability and lead to sharp pay cuts.

Hey MAGA's you see this. Israel's health care outperforms the USA's and it is government-subsidized as well.

Don't forget, you are paying for Israel's health care as well.

Something about breaking eggs to make an omelette...due to the number of idiotz who can't be made to understand public policy...so one thing I wouldn't condemn Obama for is treating the country like a bunch of idiots (because...well they are...Trump has also done the same with very little pushback)

I recall progressives were angry at Obamacare because of the sheer pricing power it left to the insurance companies, but I suppose it can be argued Obama didn't have enough support to push through a superior plan. I will leave the more progressive factions to argue w/ the moderate Dems on that one.

He obliged the insurance companies to refund premiums which exceeded payouts plus a fixed margin.

FIFY.

That's amusing.  You have my name.  You have my pic. You have my address.  You have directions to my home.  You have posted info about my home from Real Estate sites.  By your own admission I wa within 33 miles from you and you did nothing.  I have none of that info.

You need to re-evaluate who the Mincing Little Coward is, Mincing Little Coward.  Let me know when your ex returns your balls and you are at 33 mil3s from me.

Then you can call me a coward if I don't show up.

Well, family is on the way.  I gotta go.  Have a nice lonely night with your towel and hand lotion.
