Think of nearly EVERY animate feature you've ever seen...what are the characters doing?
They're on some kind of journey, engaged in a search for "home"..
Faludi uses this to tie Homer to Barbie as metaphors for Women's struggle against primitivism. And has the receipts..
It is well constructed, well written and very effective.
