You should be able to choose where they go.
I'm on my tablet right now, so I can't do it.
Next time I'm on my PC I will try it and let you know.

Do you see an option to highlight 'pictures' after you right click on 'save image as'?
I'm guessing you have 'downloads' highlighted right now.

Should I hilite pictures first?  I don't see any choice to do so,

Next time I fire up the PC I will check it out.
I mostly post from my tablet now, and when I see an image I want to save I usually just take a screenshot of it.
Speaking of which, I don't remember, does Windows 7 have a snipping tool to take screenshots?

Maybe Custer wasn't the smartest tactician in town.         OK.         Accepted.       
But let's get one thing straight.    
He was a gutsy ****.        He could mosey down to the local barroom at dawn.
Whip your little candy-*** to a "fare-the-well".........and be ready for steak, six eggs,
hash browns covered in gravy, and a pitcher of beer................before 7:00 AM.

And then put his hat on to face the day..................
