Of course not. Tip O'Neil lied to Reagan and instead of cutting spending as promised, tripled it.

You ignorance of our history is stunning.
Reagan and O’Neillhad a deal.
Reagan passed O'Neil tax increases, and O’Neill was then suppose to push through spending cuts.
Reagan of course, did what he said he would do.
O'Neill of course, lied. It's what liberals do.

Reagan was by no measure a fiscal conservative or a small government president. Hell, My taxes are still paying off the avalanche of debt he created. Reagan was directly responsible for the S&L scandal by "fixing" the Tax code. Reagan was responsible for empowering our enemies by allowing the negotiation with Iran's kidnappers.

Furthermore, No president has direct control over the economy, otherwise it would be Communism. The president should only count jobs that were created in the public sector.
You're going to have to expand on this whole "Reagan caused the S&L crisis" bit.

People are always looking for some rich republican dude to blame for stuff. The truth is S&L's did not go to the banks for their money. It was all deposits that they loaned. When a financial institution makes a bad investment they still have income flowing in. In the mid-80's when interest rates dropped, borrowers began going back to banks. S&L's holding toxic assets had no way to make good on the money they were "holding" for investors because they had no way to make money anymore.

I believe it was for future cuts, that never happened. Reagan was naïve and trusted too much, Nancy was the cynic and trusted too little.

True, Tip O'Neil broke his promise to cut spending. Reagan called the deal the biggest mistake of his presidency.

But in the end, Reagan won. Federal spending fell by 2% points relative to GDP, despite Dems' efforts to keep spending high.

They key was O'Neil's promise to cut spending in the future.

Budgets are only written for one year. Once the tax hike was written into law, O'Neil broke his promise.

Stunning that moonbats have firm opinions without having any clue what they're talking about.

It's amazing the bold faced lies that liberals will tell...
The Community Reinvestment Act(CRA, P.L. 95-128, 91 Stat. 1147, title VIII of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1977, 12 U.S.C. § 2901 ) is a United States federal lawdesigned to encourage commercial banks and savings associations to help meet the needs of borrowers in all segments of their communities, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. Congress passed the Act in 1977 to reduce discriminatory credit practices against low-income neighborhoods, a practice known as redlining.
Bush Sr wasn't President in 1977. Jimmy Carter (who prior to Obama was known as The. Worst. President. Ever.) occupied the Oval Office.

Not to mention, the key deregulation of the S&L industry and increase in the amount insured on deposits was passed in the dead of night by Dems and signed by Carter.

And the inflation and rotten economy that further caused the S&L crisis was Carter's and Dems fault.

So typically, liberals blame Reagan.

They're politically psychotic.
