But because the tax cut helped bring about the longest peacetime economic boom in history to that point, revenues rose.

Anyone who knows anything about the Reagan Era knows about that dispute and its importance.

Bush Senior maintained Reagan's bloated federal bureaucracy. Clinton cut government back down to size, reducing by 200,000.
