Look at this fool state countries don't print money. He claims countries is a concept label. I guess WWII was not a real war either involving pseudo countries on all inhabited continents. Only Antarctica didn't send troops to fight the war. I guess the Secret Service doesn't go after counterfeiters either. Looks to me like peepee pissed all over himself. ....firstly, you republican-radio-level hallucinator, 'countries' don't 'print money'...'countries' is a concept/label...and concepts/labels can't 'print' anything....see 'fallacy of reification', republican-radio monetary ignoramus...you see, you brainwashed goddamned fool, only real living people can 'print' anything...and if/when you and the rest of your doltish republican-radio fellows here at lf learn the reality of who creates [or 'prints' as many stoooopid **** republicrats such as yourself put it] 'our' money and 'how', etc..you will no longer be a goddamned fool republican monetary ignoramus...
....i and others have provided you with much evidence to bolster the assertion of money creation by PRIVATE BANKSTERS...you have provided no evidence to bolster your convoluted theory that, "The way the money supply increases is through the profit made in businesses."

...you are quite ****-up here but kudos for trying and sharing...i was there too..all of us have been 'there'...most still are..VERY few have made it out...
...yes, of course i 'buy things with dollars'..that's all they take at the grocery store...that's all the government accepts for property taxes so that i may lay my head in the house i built and not in a refrigerator box under a bridge...
...LARGELY, the only 'tangible value' the green ragcloth rectangles have is through FORCED USAGE...i.e. absent 'government' demanding that we use 'dollars' to pay taxes, use as a unit of account through legal tender laws, etc., those little green rectangles [and bank ledger entries, etc.] are rendered worthless except for some 'tangible value' as fire starter, wallpaper, a collector's item, etc...
...as for gold today it is NOT 'valuable' to use as 'currency'...the grocery store and the tax-man, etc., may accept gold at the 'face value' stamped on the coin...but imo you'd have to be a goddamned republicrat fool to use a one ounce gold coin for which you paid $1500 to pay off $50 [stamped value on the coin] of tax liability!!...btw, 'gold' has 'intrinsic value' outside of any pronouncements/laws made by legislators full of village-idiot republicrats...in fact, the village idiots have done many things to suppress the 'currency value' [measured in dollars] of gold/silver...[btw, i am certainly not a 'gold-money bug'!!]
...you ALWAYS miss my main point...it's not WHAT we use 'as money'...IT'S WHO CREATES/ISSUES/GETS TO USE IT IN 'THE FIRST ROUND OF SPENDING' AND HOW...
...for example, animal manure has been used 'as money'...human manure could be used also...so let's say 'the government' declared that we must use 'humanure' to pay our taxes...but YOUR poop didn't count as money...only poop from certain bluebloods was 'legal tender'...in other words, what if only certain bluebloods, etc. privileged individuals got to issue new 'money' and only they got to use it in 'the first round of spending'?... i bet you wouldn't like that scenario...but essentially you are under the same unjust, intolerable system today where privileged individuals have virtually enslaved you/us because of their 'legalized'/institutionalized monetary privilege$...
...i hate to say it but you, like 99% plus of people i know, lack an honest understanding of monetary reality...i.e. the basic origin and nature of 'money'...until you gain some honest understanding of monetary REALITY-and you'll have to do this LARGELY on your own-- you'll continue to be lost...no help creating an honest, egalitarian society...but then again, maybe you prefer a goddamned fool republicrat society!..![]()
...btw, thoroughly checking out some of the info on this thread [disregard posts by dildo, huey loser and shooves]is the best place i know for a 'newbie'...those of you who disagree please name the better place(s)..

"The purpose of this website is to provide a library of resources for a true understanding of money and our current monetary system.
In our current monetary system, all our money is created by private banks by means of debt. Monetary reform, taking back the authority to create money, from private banks to the government, is the central issue that unites and resolves all others, since our current privatized monetary system is the core of the elite's power base, and the reason for poverty and war, etc.
Henry Ford (1863-1947), the American industrialist and pioneer of the assembly-line production method, stated:
“It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.”
THE CREATION OF MONEY & CREDIT IS THE SOLE PREROGATIVE OF A SOVEREIGN GOVERNMENT
Most people are exposed to thinking that banking is, and should be, a private undertaking, as with most businesses. The problem is that people are misled in their understanding of how banking really works. A true understanding of money and banking will lead people to correctly see that a significant activity of banking, the extension of credit, is truly a public function.
1. In our current system, banks create money.
Private banks today, including the Federal Reserve, do not lend money they have on deposit, nor borrow money at a low interest and loan it out at a higher interest rate. Private banks today, through fractional reserve lending, create money--money that is backed by the “full faith and credit of the United States”--out of thin air by bookkeeping entry, whenever anyone, including the government, takes out a loan. As Ellen Brown states in “Web of Debt”: “They merely ‘monetize’ the borrower’s promise to repay.” Believe it. References to this fact abound, even from the Federal Reserve itself. One example, "Modern Money Mechanics," no longer in print but available on the internet, by the Federal Reserve bank of Chicago, describes “the basic process of money creation in a ‘fractional reserve’ banking system." The well-referenced article, "DOLLAR DECEPTION: HOW BANKS SECRETLY CREATE MONEY," by Ellen Hodgson Brown, is another good source ().
However, one should note that the credit extended by private banks is not theirs to extend but instead is an asset of the community – afterall, it is currency backed by the “full faith of the United States.” Thus the extension of credit, in US currency, by a private bank can be considered a fraud, while a public bank creating US currency would not.

I learned years ago in the mortgage banking biz, that every mortgage increases the money supply and is written as a debit, but also as an asset by government. So new paper notes are created out of nothing, essentially.

"Here is what William Gouge, a banking expert wrote in 1833:
“Without clearly distinguishing the causes, men have come to see clearly the wealth passing continually out of the hands of those whose labor produced it, or whose economy saved it, into the hands of those who neither work nor save. They do not clearly see how the transfer takes place, but they are certain of the fact. In the general scramble they think themselves entitled to some portion of the spoil, and if they cannot obtain it by fair means, they take it by foul.” “The Banking system is the principal cause of social evil in the United States.” (It still is, in 2004!)
To summarize the argument: The nature of the money power is societally derived, not one originating in the activities of private corporations. Because of its great importance to all, control over the process belongs under public authority. Both logic and history show that its not safe to delegate this power, and certainly not acceptable to allow its usurpation."
