President Donald Trump may have broken federal law by altering a map from the National Hurricane Center to lend credence to his false claim over the weekend that Alabama was in the path of Hurricane Dorian.
The map showed a semicircle of black ink (made with a sharpie) that extended the farthest reaches of Dorian's impact cone beyond Florida and into Alabama.
The National Hurricane Center did not include Alabama in its forecast, and some observers pointed out on Wednesday that Trump's altered map may have violated the law.
"Whoever knowingly issues or publishes any counterfeit weather forecast or warning of weather conditions falsely representing such forecast or warning to have been issued or published by the Weather Bureau, United States Signal Service, or other branch of the Government service, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ninety days, or both," the relevant part of the US Code reads.

Gosh, somehow this doesn't seem quite as important as conspiring illegally with those nasty Russkis to steal the election.Misty » 04 Sep 2019 4:12 pm » wrote:Trump may have broken federal law by altering Hurricane Dorian's path on a map.
Do you have a link to that map that shows it headed towards Alabama on Sept. 1st?Huey » 04 Sep 2019 4:15 pm » wrote:This is a joke, right?
PS. Remember the last time you guys ranted about the AL comment I told you the original tracks had it crossing FL and heading to the Gulf. In a northwest direction? Look at the map and see where AL is. Seems to me you just down your own argument.
I know where Alabama is Huey.Photos posted on the White House’s Flickr site reveal that Trump did receive the correct briefing on Aug. 29 from acting National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration head Neil Jacobs, in which the National Hurricane Center’s forecast called for Dorian to hit Florida.
Alabama was never included in any National Hurricane Center forecast cone for Dorian, though it was included for a time in a map on the probability of tropical storm conditions, but that showed a low likelihood of that outcome.

The National Hurricane Center’s text bulletin at that time included Florida in its discussion five times, but it did not mention Alabama.
Instead, the center urged caution from residents in “the Bahamas, Florida, and elsewhere in the southeastern United States.”

His campaign colluding with all those Russians was much worse.
. As mentioned earlier, Steele maintained that a “former top Russian intelligence officer” was one of his principal sources

Except that it was Hillary who colluded with the Russians and the Ukranians.
Steele testified under oath that he got his information from Russian officials including a former high Russian Intelligence official.
It wasn't altered you posted the original track put out by the National hurricane center. It's changed 6 times since then.Misty » 04 Sep 2019 4:24 pm » wrote: Do you have a link to that map that shows it headed towards Alabama on Sept. 1st?
Are you disputing what the Birmingham National Weather Service said?
And I see you ignored the fact that the NOAA map was altered, which is illegal.
I know where Alabama is Huey.
Every forecast I saw had it on the East Coast, and Alabama is not on the East coast.
The original forecast had it hitting around palm beach crossing Florida and entering the gulfMisty » 04 Sep 2019 4:24 pm » wrote: Do you have a link to that map that shows it headed towards Alabama on Sept. 1st?
