President Donald Trump may have broken federal law by altering a map from the National Hurricane Center to lend credence to his false claim over the weekend that Alabama was in the path of Hurricane Dorian.

The map showed a semicircle of black ink (made with a sharpie) that extended the farthest reaches of Dorian's impact cone beyond Florida and into Alabama.

The National Hurricane Center did not include Alabama in its forecast, and some observers pointed out on Wednesday that Trump's altered map may have violated the law.

"Whoever knowingly issues or publishes any counterfeit weather forecast or warning of weather conditions falsely representing such forecast or warning to have been issued or published by the Weather Bureau, United States Signal Service, or other branch of the Government service, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ninety days, or both," the relevant part of the US Code reads.

Just saw him on TV still sticking with his lie that Alabama was in the original forecast.
And the King of the black sharpie has no idea how that black mark got on the map.
The man is so incapable of ever admitting he was wrong about anything that it looks like he may have altered an official NOAA map, which is illegal.

This is a joke, right?

PS. Remember the last time you guys ranted about the AL comment I told you the original tracks had it crossing FL and heading to the Gulf. In a northwest direction? Look at the map and see where AL is. Seems to me you just down your own argument.

Do you have a link to that map that shows it headed towards Alabama on Sept. 1st?
Are you disputing what the Birmingham National Weather Service said?
And I see you ignored the fact that the NOAA map was altered, which is illegal.
Photos posted on the White House’s Flickr site reveal that Trump did receive the correct briefing on Aug. 29 from acting National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration head Neil Jacobs, in which the National Hurricane Center’s forecast called for Dorian to hit Florida.

Alabama was never included in any National Hurricane Center forecast cone for Dorian, though it was included for a time in a map on the probability of tropical storm conditions, but that showed a low likelihood of that outcome.
[.......]
The National Hurricane Center’s text bulletin at that time included Florida in its discussion five times, but it did not mention Alabama.

Instead, the center urged caution from residents in “the Bahamas, Florida, and elsewhere in the southeastern United States.”

Except that it was Hillary who colluded with the Russians and the Ukranians.

Steele testified under oath that he got his information from Russian officials including a former high Russian Intelligence official.
. As mentioned earlier, Steele maintained that a “former top Russian intelligence officer” was one of his principal sources

Name one Russian that Hillary or anyone in her campaign met with.

Trump and 18 of his associates had at least 140 contacts with Russian nationals.
But it was Hillary whose campaign met with not one Russian who colluded with Russians. :\

What stupid freaking parameters you set on this massive scandal.

If they didn't meet, gosh, then it wasn't important that the Hillary campaign-paid for Steele Dossier was an attempt to steal the election, then topple Trump in a coup, is it, wackjob.

Indictments are coming, and they won't be for process crimes or tax evasion.

That was on August 28th.

Image

Trump Tweeted this on Sept. 1st.

Image

And just a liitle while later he was corrected by the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Image

This GIF shows the original version of the map that was altered, dated August 29th, and showing the altered version he showed today (Sept. 4th).

Image

I don't think anyone was predicting on Sept. 1st that the storm was going to hit Alabama.

So no comment on someone altering that map?
Is that okay with you?

So the hurricane center draws on their maps by hand in black sharpies now?

They show the 'cone' in white.
They don't extend it with a black sharpie.

Look at this GIF again.

Image

This is the predicted path of the storm on the day he Tweeted that Alabama would take a hit (Sept. 1st.)
The 'cone' is no where near Alabama.
