Trump may have broken federal law by altering Hurricane Dorian's path on a map.

Democrats lash out over Biden classified document scandal: ‘An embarrassment’
https://nypost.com/2023/01/16/democrats ... rrassment/
Yes, it is an embarrassment considering what Biden said about the Former Guy, but that does not make the two cases the same.
Certainly not the way both parties have handled them.
One, fully cooperating while the other obstructed the investigation every step of the way.
One not claiming to have a right to possess classified material, while the other claims that they belong to him and that he somehow magically declassified hundreds of documents.

Had the Former Guy done what Biden did, he might have gotten away with it.
But he obstructed the National Archives and the DOJ every step of the way.
He felt he had a right to keep those documents.
Intent matters and obstruction definitely matters.
why do you keep talking about Trump?
Biden is the one on the hot seat right now.
His own party members are saying he is an embarrassment.
I know you don't want to talk about him, can't say I blame you, but in case you haven't noticed the Former Guy's *** is on fire.
As much as you might hope, he's not nearly out of the woods yet.
The people who should really be embarrassed are the ones who put that grifter into office to begin with.
He has almost singlehandedly destroyed the Republican Party.

BTW, if it is found that Biden knowingly took classified material with him when he left the Vice Presidency, intentionally hid that fact, refused to turn them over to the National Archives and lied to the DOJ about it, then he should be held accountable for that.

You're damn right they're not the same!

Show me WHEN Biden EVER had the right to remove and possess classified documents?
Tell me WHY the Biden DOJ saw the documents in question in Trump's possession and simply told him to put a lock on the door, then sent a SWAT team to raid and break down that same **** door the next day AFTER Trump had a lock put on it?
Explain why you think that Biden claiming he didn't know he had stolen documents IN 3 SEPARATE LOCATIONS HE OWNED exonerates him from his crime?

Is it also your belief that a bank robber returning the money he stole after being caught is not responsible for his crime?
Do you not believe that if Biden is so mentally incompetent to remember how top secret documents came to be sitting in his garage or elsewhere, he is far too big a danger to remain our president?
Are you comfortable knowing that Biden's crackhead junkie pedophile son had access to the top secret documents in his garage for 6 years after him making so many deals that sold access to the president with China, Russia, and Ukraine?

goes both ways there.
Biden is getting bad news every day now.
I can say the people that put Biden in office should be embarrassed .

Yes...the huge difference is Trump had the Presidential Records Act authority...Joe Biden did not.
What authority is that?
The PRA of 1978 required to turn all Presidential documents over to the National Archives when he left office, not take them to his resort in Florida. It is understandable if a few documents were packed away and taken by mistake, but not hundreds.
And you say I'm uninformed?

Right. And if it is found by the special counsel that Biden intentionally took those documents and refused to hand them over to the National Archives and the DOJ after they were discovered, then he should be held accountable.

Two separate issues.

The main concern was he mishandled classified docs.  Just like Trump.  Both broke the law.
Intent matters.

When it comes to handling classified material it doesn’t.

only in the penalty phase.

If the documents were removed by mistake, no legal action will likely be taken, since he self reported and turned them over to the National Archives as soon as they were discovered.
Had he not done that, we would never even know about it, since unlike in the Trump case, the National Archives was not even looking for those documents.
No evidence has emerged publicly to indicate that Biden knew they had been taken improperly.

If the vice president did not personally remove them when he left the White House, Mr. Hur will no doubt try to determine which aides were involved in packing his papers.

I never said he was exonerated.
If it is proven that he intentionally took those documents and attempted to secrete them from the National Archives and lied to the DOJ, then he should be held accountable.

True! But also the nature of what those documents are matters a great deal!
Did anyone die because of them? Were CIA operatives outed because of them?
I doubt it!

So, Biden should simply claim he knew nothing, (a somewhat simple lie to tell, no?) and then you think he's guilty of nothing except sheer ignorance in a president who is so reckless with national security that he had no knowledge that ANY of those top secret documents he moved from place to place over 6 years, huh?

And despite knowing that he's so carelessly inept at his job, you're still completely comfortable with such a demented imbecile as your president, and would be delighted to vote for his senile *** again next year, right?

Did you ever wonder what was in those specific documents that have now turned up in his garage and in other unsecure locations?  Because I'd bet they're evidence of the crimes he and Obama committed in spying on the Trump campaign (a felony), or relate to the DNC actions that hired Russians to create the Steele dossier that Hillary bought and paid for that's  been proven (another felony), or any of the proven crimes committed by FBI criminals McCabe, Strozk, Page, or Brennen?

Here's the proof you required regarding what was done AFTER Trump gave his full cooperation and offered the FBI to take anything they wanted PRIOR to raiding his house and breaking down the door?
Trump was already cooperating with National Archives, so why the dramatic, unprecedented raid?
8/9/22 BY CHRISTINE DOUGLASS-WILLIAMS

It is peculiar that Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was dramatically raided at this particular time, in a stunningly unprecedented act by the FBI, when Nat. Archives had already inventoried the contents of Trump’s boxes back in February. The National Archives was quoted as stating in Feb. that it was “in the process of inventorying the contents of the boxes,” and also insisted that the process was “part of a MUTUAL ongoing effort to retrieve presidential documents, not a raid.”

Trump Says DOJ, FBI Asked Him To Put Lock On Door Leading To Documents In Early June
Daily Wire By  Hank Berrien  8/10/22

President Trump on Wednesday claimed that the DOJ and the FBI had asked his legal team in early June to put an extra lock on the door to the room where boxes of documents reportedly marked as classified were stored.Trump contended in a statement on Truth Social the feds saw the boxes at his home at Mar-a-Lago 2 months before the dramatic raid. That claim could call into question why the government agents would need to use such heavy-handed tactics to seize documents they knew about.“They were shown the secured area, and the boxes themselves,” Trump wrote. “Then on Monday, without notification or warning, an army of agents broke into Mar-a-Lago, went to the same storage area, and ripped open the lock that they had asked to be installed.
