It's rather common for an agency's spokesperson to issue a press release... that's their job. Anywho... let's not quibble over minor details concerning the press release. The most important takeaways from the entire Dorian saga, from the perspective of most, are that the storm didn't put a scratch on the Southern White House and the Prez was right again. : )

There are some things, unmentionable things, about NWS Birmingham that may not be abundantly clear to you at this time. NOAA has the final word on these matters. Case closed. : )
