Do yourself a favor & watch the ABC Evening News today for the truth about what happened yesterday. I am watching the 3:30 edition now, it repeats at 5:30. At 6:30 here, I always try to catch the CBS Evening News too. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but how does a bloke in a Chewbacca bikini outwit the nation’s finest and storm the Capitol?
I watched the astonishing breaking news from Washington yesterday like billions all over the world, our mouths agape, as the citadel of Western democracy was breached – Capitol Hill falls to the angry mob – and pondered one question.
In a country that spends about 900 billion dollars a year on security and defence, that has made its name as the (often uninvited) police officer of the world, that loves going into other countries and ‘helping’ prop up one regime over another, or get rid of another it doesn’t like, all in the name of ‘democracy’... how is it possible that a couple of thousand of badly dressed and quite frankly weird folks break into the USA’s centre of power?

One of the most pervasive story lines following the Capitol protest that turned violent is that the Capitol Police let in protesters.Though some still doubt it, it’s beginning to appear that some of the protesters were, in fact, allowed onto the grounds and into the building, which explains why there were those who entered and stayed within the velvet guide ropes, taking selfies, and staying peaceful. And those who were not peaceful.There are several people who talked to The Washington Examiner’s congressional reporter, Susan Ferrechio, who claimed that police let them into the Capitol Building.
The Federalist’s Sean Davis says he spoke with multiple people who said that police let them in.One small group of men said they walked into the Capitol without resistance through the House side door and were allowed to enter by the police but told to stay away from certain areas. “They were not blocking people from coming into the building,” Nick from St. Louis said.Nick and his group sat on benches in the Rotunda for about 15 minutes “until a cop comes up with an AR-15 strapped to him and says, ‘You guys got to get up. You can’t sit there.’” The officer did not make them leave the building but rather told them to remain in the center of the Rotunda.Jeff from Illinois told the Washington Examiner he blamed the violence “on the young kids” and said the vast majority of the protesters were peaceful, even though they entered the Capitol against the wishes of the police.Some of the protesters “were breaking windows and kicking doors,” Jeff said, adding that he and a friend blocked a protester from breaking into one room outside the Senate.

While I was setting here at my laptop, I heard on the news (Fox and Friends) some guest referring to a video of a protester using a police shield to break out windows to gain entrance to the Capital. In the woman's march to Versailles, gates were also opened. And i mean that literally...yes the mob brought a few cannons so they could have dealt with the gates if th3y killed the guards but the gates were opened. Nobody in the French military resisted. The french guards were killed anyway. Then they abducted louis xviii and carried him back to Paris.
