I have been to a few.  You have not.  Yes, you can buy IN SOME shows without a UBC from a private seller who is not making a living selling guns.  It is illegal for an FFL (google it) to sell without a UBC.  The gun show loophole is BS.  That loophole allows PRIVATE SELLERS in some states to sell to another resident of that state a firearm IF THEY ARE BOTH FROM THAT STATE.  The sale can take place in an IHOP parking lot or a basement.
