well if our economy is entirely dependent on imports, perhaps we would be better off using the nazi concept of autarky. will make us less vulnerable to pandemics.

lol prove it. i am quite sure the internal lockdown had more economic impact than temporarily shutting down imports.

in fact we didnt get imports from china for a few months because of THEIR lockdown anyway

These guys believe that we are totally helpless without multinationals.  They think that the U.S. is utterly unable to be self sufficient, despite the fact that we survived, and thrived for the first century of existence independently.

they are so stupid, it’s surprising they remember to breathe.  And they project that **** onto others.

These guys are so mentally enslaved to the multinational propaganda, they would literally believe the moon is made of cheese if they were suddenly targeted by ads for “moon cheese” on cable tv. As long as the company was operating in multiple countries, of course.

They would buy McDonalds moon cheese burgers on the strength of branding alone, even if the moon cheese tasted like garbage

if that is true, then how did Japan thrive as a nation completely isolated from ALL international trade for centuries, idiot?

While Sakoku, Japan’s long period of isolation from 1639 to 1853, kept it closed off from much of the world, one upshot was the rise of cultural touchstones that persist to this day. (Though admittedly, this knowledge would likely have done little to console the lower classes, who lived difficult lives.)ImageA quintessential scene from the streets of JapanSo many of the things we still associate with Japan—such as haiku poetry, kabuki drama, wood-block prints, the tea ceremony, landscape gardening and the cultivation of bonsai trees—date to this period of Japan.

Priceless
No, it was only possible pre industrial revolution.  See, life was actually EASIER before the invention of refrigerators, laundry machines, steam engines, the discovery of penicillin, etc…

now that we have modern luxuries, we couldn’t POSSIBLY SURVIVE as humans did in primitive isolation for centuries.

Amish have 0 trade with multinationals.  No McDonalds, no shopping at Walmart, no smartphone, no laptop .. ZERO

2 questions..

1.  Are the Amish North Korean?

2.  How would it affect the Amish if the border was closed?

that is just one example… there are hundreds of self sustaining, simple farming communities in the U.S. that don’t give A **** if you think they would perish.. they would prove you wrong easily, and we would all be better off, so **** you and your weak brainwashed globalist horse ****.

Keep going....this is **** priceless

By the way the amish trade with outsiders all the time.  They make great furniture.   Lol
Amish don’t need your foreign made Chinese crap.  They don’t drive cars, they chop wood and build barns and literally do chores all day.  And within their communities there little to none of the things that plague the rest of us.. crime, abortions, drug abuse, overdose, obesity, ADHD, debilitating depression, medical bankruptcy, autism, suicides, pollution, declining life expectancy..

ALL the curses that you love have been rained on us from multinationals like Monsanto, McDonalds, Coca Cola, etc… the more we import foreign garbage at the ports and borders, the more these things destroy us.

so yeh, if we all lived like the Amish, that would be great.  If we all became Taliban, that might even be an improvement

You are not going to get Americans to give up their 60 inch flat screens and their SUVs for a butter churn and a barn raising.  Lol

They would not have to, I was just making a point.

Every modern luxury could be made in the U.S. without any foreign products.  That is why I like Trump’s protectionist trade policies.

We moved from a manufacturing economy to a service economy.  I grew up in Flint Michigan.  I saw the decline of the auto plants in Flint and Detroit, thanks to the import of Japanese cars.  I saw the town I grew up in go from a vibrant community to a ghetto filled with unemployed bums and watched the Fischer body and GM plants turn into urban ruins, which me and my friends explored as kids.

I saw FIRSTHAND how the globalism you worship ruins Americans, your insistence that prosperity = dependence is Orwellian.

Thanks to you and your kind, there is no modern example, IF YOU CONSIDER MODERN TECHNOLOGY ESSENTIAL TO HAVING “PARADISE”

The Amish are luddites.  There are thousands of backward communities all over the world that do organic farming and refuse modern technology, and they are happy.  The unabomber had a point.
