Wouldn't be surprised if they're related to the Portuguese Man O' War we have here in Florida.... Their course is directed by the winds as well, and occasionally heavy storms will wash thousands of them up on the beaches.. . When we were kids, an older Brother swam into one and was stung across the neck & chest... The lady that owns the horse pasture behind me made some nice improvement...including a brand new barn. She also built an oval fence around the fox den to protect it.
I just looked out my bedroom window and their they are. Momma fox laying in the sun while the pups/kits played. It's very cool to see them back again.
I just read that the kit season for foxes runs from March through May. So the pups will be here all month.
