I've never seen it before either. Maybe it was a matter of survival. Sometimes those waterholes dry up.

Trained the wild birds... can you imagine how cool it was to have these tiny things ... land on my hats- and my hands.. as light weight as a feather...
once One took the balls by the horn- they all followed for the seed- it went on for years? they followed all of us kids! thru the woods- on our bikes? we all had a pocket of sun flower seeds!
I started it as a child.. do you know? it went on for YEARS

Good idea...I like birds too. But I'm about to shoot a Flicker with my pellet gun cause he's drilling holes in the eves.

He pecks on my eves...then I slide my bedroom window open and he flies away.
My pellet gun is locked and loaded.

Exactly...except mine is a Flicker. There used to be a big cabover truck on the property with a tall exhaust pipe and a Flicker would sit on top of it and pound it like a machine gun. lol
