Something is going to give. It always has. Just a matter of time. thing is giving always goes to those taking advantage of people adopting doubt as a lifetime career staying in character. Better check on the difference between spawning and adapting as one of a kind. I agree with you SJ. Except for the blip of the Vietnam war..The hippies were right. Basically that's when America was good. Decent family values.. one bread winner could swing it.. like ghetto said too.. I say we had 3 decades of greatness, roughly 1950 to 1980. That was when America had great standing on the world stage, everybody wanted to come here, and opportunities were amazing for even average folk. A family could be raised on one income, all indicators of quality of life were on the rise. Of course, the caveat to all this is it was true if you are white.
After about 1980, the middle class began to evaporate. Homelessness, poverty, sickness, drug addiction, all began to skyrocket.
Anyway that’s my take. I would like to know how some others would answer the question… when was America great? And how in the world could we ever return to greatness?
Not that i'm against that. But when that happened prices soared. I've read about that as a conspiracy..

SJ.. it was all planned SJ. As a woman.. I have gotten this all the time.. What DO you do? well my ol mans cousin was a stay at home mom.. she raised the best kids.. just saying.. picked on horribly.. no I think she did her job.. just fine.

Did you work a 12 hour shift, 6 days a week, in a coal mine when you were 6 years old?
BTW, the newsboys didn't go to school; they worked 10 hour shifts, 7 days a week. Some of them were as young as 7 years old.
The textile factories employed 7 year old children, who stood on stools, and regularly had their fingers chopped off when they got tangled in the machines.

The truth is that we have never been great. If you look at each era; we did terrible things. Slavery, child labor, the Native Americans, etc.
