OK..let's put a "hard cap" on wealth and outlaw all forms of government subsidies. Where would that cycle of "Hard Caps" ever end...?
Pandemic Recovery..?
Too bad..!
So guys like Musk should be expected to assume all risk when it comes to developing unproven technology. It has to be that way because if you give these Government Contractor's an inch...they will take a mile.
Let Uncle Sugar run the show from now on...He has all sorts of highly motivated, energentic talent lurking oin those GSA Offices..!

I actually think that if humans can manage to colonize space then it could solve almost all the problems we have right now. At the very least it could provide us with the ultimate in 'white flight'.

If bozos or musk can get us closer to that then cool.

But that does not seem to be their goal.

Space exploration used to be a source of national pride and a metric of human evolution.. a collective effort of a unified nation.

now it is merely a fun joyride for the elite that we provide them

that says something about our values and culture as a people

the system we have set up, allows men like Musk to exploit and subvert the collective efforts of a whole country

just because that is the current system, does not make it righteous.  If it did, you could justify any system.. even the ugliest in history.

it is the endgame of the elite , to coop up humanity in congested cities, cloned and harvested for fresh organs to grant them immortality as they roam the green earth and explore the galaxy.

Recent space flights for billionaires seem to confirm this agenda, that’s why it bothers me

Well if so I think their plan will backfire on them immensely. A colony of mindless flesh cannot maintain a civilization.

I think they are counting on the creation of full ai. But full ai will never happen.

why did Bezos say that?
He said that because he made his money from his amazon investments.  So he was thanking his employees and his customers.  That doesn't mean he didn't earn the money and it wasn't his.  Are you dim?

Similar to a grocery store owner thanking his employees and customers because without them he wouldn't be in business.  But this isn't to say it wasn't his money.  It is a customary and polite thing to do in the US.  Obviously everyone knows the employees were paid for their labor and if they didn't decide to work there Amazon would have hired other workers.  And Customers shopped there because they got what they wanted and perhaps they like the service.  But it's still money he earned.

It certainly wasn't my money.  Wasn't the taxpayers money.  He didn't thank me or the US government or the taxpayers.  So what business is it of yours or mine what he spends his money on.  If I drive to Mexico on my vacation do I need government permission to do so.  I don't use my money to do that either and the government doesn't fund it.  I may even thank the gas station attendant when I stop for gas and refreshment.  But does that mean they paid for my vacation to Mexico?

Under your twisted logic next time I go to fill up my car with gas I should pay the clerk double.  Once to reimburse the store for the gas and labor costs and once again to reimburse the clerk for paying for the gas she didn't pay for.  I think I'll just politely thank the clerk and leave it at that.  Shall we?  Just as Jeff Bezos did in your video.  Good for him.  He looks like a good guy to work for.  Much rather he spent his money this way rather than on hookers and crack.

he manipulated the laws of the land to gain immense wealth and power.

As did Stalin in his time.  And others before him.

I guess they all “earned it”. Fair enough.

Oh give it a rest already! I have never seen anyone so consumed with envy of the rich. You are just jealous and greedy and think they should have to give you the money they earned. Nothing but greed and envy. Is it wrong for someone to do something of greater value and make more than you do? Is it wrong for someone to work harder and longer than you and make more money than you. Get over your envy. Stop being so damn greedy. Go out and do something worth a crap to someone else rather than growing mushrooms and living off the government.

I don't think he has any envy.

I think he simply does not find it healthy what us labor and resources are directed towards. He would probably prefer that our labor is directed towards projects that help the us citizens more.

ad Homs lol.

look, I am not here to diminish Bezos or any successful capitalist.  But I judge people by what they contribute.  Amazon provides an excellent service and Bezos deserves to be wealthy.  But does that mean I should pay his taxes?  Does it mean he should get public bailout money?

There comes a point where wealth has diminishing returns.  Someone can only spend so much in a lifetime, beyond that it is just about depriving others.

exactly.  Every $billion hoarded by the oligarchs is a $billion NOT CIRCULATING IN  ECONOMY that could otherwise spur new building, innovation, employment, prosperity.

The irony here is Libdave supports policies that drive poverty, unemployment, General misery and societal decay

I do not think you are paying his taxes.

But I also think it is worse than you are saying.

Part of thr motivation for covid lockdowns and legalized shoplifting, for example, is probably to make Amazon the sole retailer in the usa.

And with completely centralized power like amazon etc.. the merchants can increase their coercive power on the population..
