And to answer your next question, No I don't pay all that much in taxes. But I always pay what I owe.

I also don't know what you had for breakfast this morning. Of what import is it who developed the initial business model? And trust me, it wasn't sears either?
Mushroom omelette am I right?
Oh yawn. You are getting quite defensive. I don't know whether it is because you see that I am right or that you are wrong.LibDave » 30 Dec 2021, 10:25 pm » wrote: ↑ Don't know everything. It helps a great deal to learn how to weed out the BS your brain will natural simplify and make decisions and perceive in a manner which isn't logical. Just a suggestion.
There is a 3rd option. I might not be defensive at all. It may actually be I am right. That would fit the situation too right? I might actually be trying to help you understand something I see and you don't. And that perception just might be the correct one.FOS » 30 Dec 2021, 10:30 pm » wrote: ↑ Oh yawn. It is very difficult to have your world view challenged. I get it. Our world view can often become mixed into our identity...especially if you identify as a rich man.
But quite simply you cannot respond to my point. This one tiny little fact...and there are hundreds of other examples.
Considering the evidence that lambert sabotaged sears so that Amazon had no competition...that totally demolished your idea of how our economy works...doesn't it? Corruption is the rule, not meritocracy.

The point is not that Amazon won and Sears lost. That is totally irrelevant.LibDave » 30 Dec 2021, 10:38 pm » wrote: ↑ If that was the case I would have invested in Sears. If that was the case it would have been apparent Sears was to be the Amazon of today. And trust me I would have known. But I knew that wasn't the correct perception for the future. So I didn't invest in Sears. Now if Sears where to have been the rightful Amazon of today, I would have invested... heavily. Then Bezos would have screwed me. But somehow my perception was correct and I didn't invest in Sears. Could be I got lucky and by mistake made the wrong investment that turned out to be the correct one. So which scenario is correct. I see three logical possiblities. Which one is correct?

Forget the Amazon conspiracy. Let's move to something else. I am a fascist libdave. Lol. The one thing you couldn't accuse me of is being brainwashed. I have literally adopted the ideology that is supposed to be the ultimate evil.LibDave » 30 Dec 2021, 10:53 pm » wrote: ↑ The example I gave earlier was of a study done. They took 500 Obama supporters and 500 Trump supporters and gave them the inaugural and state of the union speeches of both Trump and Obama and were told they would be asked questions about the speech afterwards. Only they switched the names of the candidates in bold letters at the top of the pages.
Out of 500 Obama supporters something like 475 when given multiple choice questions as to which policies they supported chose the policies of the opposite candidate. And they also provided reasons why. Almost the same results from the Trump supporters. So what does this say about the way humans make decisions? And what is it about yourself that makes you PRESUME you aren't in that 95% group? Or me for that matter. I was, I know that for sure.

It will could be someone inside Sears did some **** stuff to Sears. But to make a connection to Bezos is a long stretch without ANY evidence. Your brain naturally made that connection because that is the perception you have of the world and how business works. If you believe the system is corrupt your brain will automatically make logical connections which are completely illogical based on that perception of the world. It is how we work. It is how we sort of paraphrase the world around us. Our brain simplifies analysis. It has to because it receives a great deal of input and can't process it. So we develop a viewpoint of the world and before we even logically look at the factual details our brain has chosen which side of the issue it believes will be true. And then it thinks up reasons for why the data presented fits our model. Our preconceived perception of the world. This is why people who think happy thoughts often see mostly good in the world and are happy people. But the curmudgeonly old coot who see has a notion the world is out to cause him grief sees nothing but ill-intent everywhere he looks.FOS » 30 Dec 2021, 10:50 pm » wrote: ↑ dude yes..I am assuming it as fact and it is pretty impossible to deny it especially if you know some of the known details.
