On another note, there have been repeated stories of Putin threatening nuclear war and his moving submarines into the north Atlantic, among other aggressive posturing. My feelings on it being, you can't let bullies run all over you. Because when you do they only grow too comfortable in doing/saying the same.

Yes I'm a Christian. But I'm not exactly a turn the other cheek kind of guy. I'm more of a "what's good for the goose..." "eye for an eye" "mutual assured destruction" kind of guy. I believe when enemies show you who and what they are, BELIEVE 'em. That when their leaders tell them to go out and buy two weapons, one should at least CONSIDER doing likewise.

The US citizens were anti-war and had to be lied to to get us into WWII. FDR and US intelligence had intentionally provoked the Japs and knew the attack on Pearl Harbor was coming and let it happen to intentionally get US citizenry angry enough to accept war. 

Documents obtained through the FOIA prove that FDR had prior knowledge of the impending attack on Pearl Harbor.  

Do you think that the people of Ukraine will accept being taken over by Russia or will Putin have continual resistance by Ukrainians that would be extrememly costly to control?  It would be like another Russia war against the Afghanis that was unwinnable.

The U.S. is not budging to the threats by Russia. Biden is going to let Russia be the aggressor. And it's a smart move. The Russians are trying to play like we are the ones being aggressive. It should be interesting to see how this turns out. But I'm betting Putin attacks because he will look weak otherwise.

The only possible thing that FDR could have done after the attack on Pearl Harbor was to declare war on the Japanese.
The Japanese were the aggressors, and not only against the Americans in American Samoa, Guam and the Philippines, but also against the Dutch in Indonesia, the French in Indochina, and the British in Hong Kong.
