I guess you don't understand that the hard drive had already been wiped, the emails deleted and was in the possession of the FBI.  

I saw it live on TV, and like everyone else, got big laugh out of it.  Then I laughed even harder when I realized what a fit the lefties were gonna have over it. I didn't realize it was still going to be the gift that keeps on giving for this long.
