I dont watch television, period. I have posted tucker carlson clips that popped un on youtube due to other sht I watch - not subscribed. Don't particularly like the silver spoon ersatz-everyman. I personally have literally never watched fox news. Ever.
I have seen some tucker Carlsen clips cause the guy comes close to the truth sometimes. But that is all.. I never watched fox news for it.

To me, patriotism is expressed by cooperation with fellow citizens, not by conflict with them. Yet modern Americans who deem themselves the most patriotic also seem to be the first to throw other Americans under the bus of hardship and poverty.
The most ardent patriots are the same ones promoting a rat race dog eat dog vision of society with no cooperation, only competition. They seem to hate other Americans intensely. Is this a paradox?
The country doesn't just hate vets. It hates anybody that interrupts their rights and freedoms to do whatever the **** they want, whenever the **** they want. So the country hates vets, the elderly, the sick, the infirm, the physically handicapped, the intellectually handicapped, the mentally ill...anybody who is inconvenient. The country hates children...the most inconvenient of us all. Want proof? The reaction feom the right to Sandy Hook.
So in addition to individualism, the country is founded on utopianism (every place else sucks), and puritanism (everybody else is going to hell). Add the genocide of Manifest Destiny, and the inhumanity of slavery...and it's a neat little package, eh SJ?
Americans don't have any more appropriate notion of patriotism and cooperation than they do of their "rights and freedoms." What most Americans see as their rights and freedoms, are in direct conflict with patriotism and interpersonal cooperation.
The definition you note...devotion and vigorous support of one's country, in the hands of Americans, is nationalism, pure and simple.

Patriotism is dedication to context over content. nothing else involved. Mud people will also have extremely low productivity and innovation.
They will, having no higher purpose in their life, also make miserable soldiers...and you can never count on them to be loyal. They would easily be hijacked by some competing elite.
And because they are not particularly adapted to any specific environment you will be unable to draw upon a mud population to find talented specialists at anything..

Europeans are a product of centuries of evolution. When we first migrated to Europe we were not adapted to it.
Over time we did become adapted to it. Not only to the physical environment...but also to a unique method of building a tribe that can survive using some particular general strategy...which for Europeans was focusing on innovation.
it takes time to fine tune the genetics of a population in that way. Not thousands of years but hundreds.
but you can ruin all thay work in one generation by mixing with some out group.

If you look at other highly social animals in the wild, monkeys, orca whales, etc.. they are born into a group, or pod, and they do not mix with other groups. Often, they have organized warfare between such groups.
Nature does alow diversity at times, but does not favor it
