I think I know where your money went: Commie Slayer Rachel Wilson's book was self published through a vanity printing publisher. They only do a production run of a book if you pay up front for books. Mostly agree. I find the government is always bad sentiment to be simplistic.
I believe on that trip I was on I-15 all the way to the US 191, cutting a corner of Wyoming (if I recall correctly). It was a bad mofo. Had to make the mountain pass before I got trapped in Idaho.

Yeah, that very NW corner of WY along with eastern Idaho is not for the faint of heart in the winter. That wind cuts right through you.

Imported white ones . . . at the beginning of the season, and for the top fat grade ones, they fetch up to 2 bucks each.
In some cases even more !
Every year, in mid-season, when they're much more affordable, we get two or three cases directly from the Netherlands (the most sought after) which, after peeling, we freeze !
About 50 piece a case .
They're pretty thick, I tell ya . . . even after peeling !

I worked the oil boom in Evanston, WY back in the winter of 1980. I fled south for Tejas before the **** spring thaw. These days, its so much easier. Microfibers, magical cloths, balaclavas, insulated every **** thing - lots of readily available tech for surviving the bitter cold.

The opposite applies as well. I will be in NYC in August and will be whining about humidity. Reno, as you know, is very dry. Any humidity at all gets us desert rats whining.
