Teacher should have known it has been used both ways. Correctly.

I used to get hand written notes from Elementary School Teachers full of spelling errors and  with the lowercase *I*s dotted with SMILEY FACES....

Ever watched an NFL or NHL game?  If the answer is yes...how do you say something like this with a strafistfight.

I've enjoyed going to Blackhawks games my whole life.  There are a half dozen incidents or more in every hockey game that out in the real world would qualify as a legal assault...and that's not counting the actual fistfights.
