Because, there have not been any fundamental changes to the function of a semi-auto firearm and a full-auto firearm since the NFA. Guns are old technology. Other than materials, there is nothing high-tech about pistols, AR-15's, AK's, Mac 10's, or belt-fed semi-autos and full-autos.Blackvegetable » 22 Jun 2022, 12:37 pm » wrote: ↑ How could that pertain to a weapon designed to military specifications, starting in 1944?

About the only high tech "gun" that might not be covered by the NFA would be Metal Storm:
This is not something that can be bought, found on the black market (or any market), or made in the back yards of hobby machinists. So, we don't need to change the NFA to address it.

It hasn't ever been "on".
You insist on "contradicting" citations with transparent twaddle.
Then you declare "victory", while running from questions..
No, Controlly..Huey » 22 Jun 2022, 1:10 pm » wrote: ↑ Stop talking about it and bring it on.
1. You have been given the military definition (Govt Agency) Definition of an assault rifle. Game Over.
2. You have been given the ATF (NFA) definition of a machine gun. Game over.
3. You need less strike thru, more reading, more sources, more narrative and less questions. If you are not going bring it on, don't bother any further.
You are absolutely correct there is only one design for the AR 15.

The MILITARY determines what it wants, and why.
The Assault Rifle was designed for specific reasons, identified through empirical analysis of shooters, context, and injuries. It was developed to conform with a particular MILITARY Doctrine.
The reason it is sold to civilians in slightly modified form is entirely divorced from its purpose. It is all about the dollars. It's metal oxy.
We now this. The Assault Rifle was designed for specific reasons, identified through empirical analysis of shooters, context, and injuries. It was developed to conform with a particular MILITARY Doctrine.

Civilians buy semi-auto AR's because they are cheap, efficient killing machines. And, many of the ones assembled by Civilians are far actually better than what they had in the Military. So what? It's our right!Blackvegetable » 22 Jun 2022, 12:54 pm » wrote: ↑ More creative writing.

The context being the Armalite Rifle 15 which became the Colt c601 and designated the M 16. What else ya got.Huey » 16 Jun 2022, 2:30 pm » wrote: ↑Apparently. Keep running.
You refuse to answer?
Game. Set. Match.
You answer honestly and guess what,
Game. Set. Match.
You are boxed in by your own ****.

Yeah, it does in context. That is why you never link that.
You left out the link again.
I know it is not necessary NOW. I already posted and linked it using my rule.
