Clearly, there were full-auto machine guns before there was ever any legislative definition.  Originally, there was no distinction between full-autos and semi-autos - they were all legal for any 18 year old to buy and own. Could buy Tommy Guns at the hardware store.

Some were more difficult to obtain, however.  Like the M1918 Browning BAR. I think those had to be special ordered because there wasn't much call for those.

What needs to be understood  by many is between the ratification of the bill off rights until the NFA of 1934 there was no federal legislation of firearms.

James Madison himself enacted policies that were designed to make it easier for the avg citizen to obtain the most advanced firearms of his time.  It could be argued the he wanted citizens to be able to own the same weapons as a national standing army.

It's not about the "legislative definition".

@Blackvegetable

Legislative definitions are really the only thing that has any meaning.  I've argued many times with gun-people that the terms: Assault Rifle, Sturmgewehr, and Storm Gun are all nonsense terms. Another nonsense term is "sporting purposes".  The Nazis and the Democrats are masters at making up emotional names for machinery.

War Machine - I like it.  Better than "Storm Gun" - It's amazing to me that this term ever made it as a translation into English, let alone still be in use as much as it is, today.

Just for the record the first and second sentences of the post are facts. The last sentence is opinion based on his words and actions.

Yes.

Is this going to be an interrogation or are you going to off facts, narrative, and opinions based on those facts?

Good meme.  But, you're one weird dude.  You think too much about sucking dick and communist-cripple FDR. His wife was a bull dyke who didn't have much use for FDR's flacid penis.  Reminds me of Jill and Joe Biden.  You just know that Jill is getting plowed on the side.

If you are about 6' tall, 5'2" Putin would be just about the right size to suck your dick. You should write him an email and see if he'll meet you at the Flying J where homos regularly meet up.

Here's an ugly gun that just works. Kel-tec 308 Bullpup, semi-auto.  You can still find them for about $1,100, if you look hard enough.  Someday, folks will wish they bought one.

The AK-5, wish we could still purchase these gems in the US.  But, sadly, due to HW Bush's '89 import ban, we can't.

Basically, it's a modernized FN FNC.  The FNC was the best 5.56 rifle ever made.
