No one sane of mind would ever put a racist dimwit like you on any screening committee for Texas or anything else.

I think the police should be a respected profession like a doctor or a lawyer or an accountant. They should be pillars of the community respected for always telling the truth. I think they should be paid more. I think the educational requirements should be more. I think they should spend more time in training as cadets.
I support the police.
I appreciate your contributions to the thread, Slideman. Though I think you're wasting your time responding to those who are allergic to information, willfully ignorant, and who choose to dwell in alternate realities.  They are a lost cause.

I too have always had respect for cops, and I'd like to think that there are those who want to protect and serve ALL of the community (not just some).

I also believe part of the well documented and substantiated LYING (as per your posts) is not only by those trying to cover their *** when they know they've done something they shouldn't have, but also because of that institutionalized "blue wall of silence" that USUALLY (with some exceptions) fall over instances of misconduct.  I know of instances in which cops felt coerced to clam up about misdeeds and such.

As I wrote, I had some articles at the start of the thread to share because, as it so happens I've LONG been a writer of political commentary, and as such, one tends to save a story... or two (ahem).  But I'll be DAMNED if, as if by magic, as soon as I created the thread, more RECENT stories suddenly popped up in the headlines... as if they came looking for ME.

Cops are behind the 8ball from the first moment they have to interact with a criminal.  The cops have to follow rules, while the criminals don't.
So you were not a cop you were a border patrol agent that is not the same thing at all.

And does the American bar association disgust you?

Where did the old saying "Society cannot legislate morality." originate? Speculation doesn't define actual life nor tries to discover actual point of origin.

when did your time being alive originate? Inception of species or your personal conception replacing those lived prior to that event of conceived?

Conceived yesterday, evolving here now, gone tomorrow.

If you had been a cop you would know that in the training academy they are taught to separate perpetrators into different rooms and tell them that each of them has turned their compatriot over to the cops.
Standard police procedure do you disagree?
Sometimes, I am truly amazed by what a simpering idiot you are.  A "wannabe"??  I did my career and I got out because I DIDN'T "wannabe" anymore.  I got sick and tired and fed up of the ****... generally **** created by **** like you and the criminals you are so righteously outraged on behalf of.

I will reiterate an earlier point: law enforcement has rules it has to follow.  Some of those mandates are important; it's good that police are required to acknowledge and recognize people's basic constitutional rights.

But... sometimes those rules give all the advantage to the murderers and rapists and societal predators who are not encumbered by any rules but the rules they make up for themselves, to the detriment to their victims and to society as a whole.  Sometimes tactics get used in interrogation to try and crack the suspect and make them confess to what they've done; tactics designed to walk that fine line between recognizing a suspect's rights but taking advantage of the suspicions that criminals have that their scumbag buddies just might not be trustworthy and might turn on them in an instant if the offer they're given is good enough.

Oh, but that offends you, doesn't it??  Law enforcement is supposed to take bad guys off the street, but not if they have to LIE, right??  Sweet, merciful crap.

Fortunately, my job was to keep illegal activity on the border down.  More straightforward in a lot of ways to urban law enforcement; but we still dealt with drug smugglers and human traffickers so devoid of basic human decency they are barely deserving of the title of human.
