No, I never lied in the performance of my duties.  Ever.  Even if I was capable of it, I worked for an agency that would have washed their hands of me in a heartbeat if I'd ever perjured myself in court.

On reflection I find this extremely hard to believe. Were you a police officer? They regularly lie to suspects about what their associates are telling the cops in another room; it is a standard interrogation technique. The cops lie by doctrine.

I was an agent of the U.S. Border Patrol.

Cops are behind the 8ball from the first moment they have to interact with a criminal.  The cops have to follow rules, while the criminals don't.

You're happy to see innocent people arrested and in jail as long as they don't make the cops look bad?

Honestly, yeah.  I've known good people who were attorneys... and I've known a lot of scumbags.  The American Bar association is a corrupt organization.

If you had been a cop you would know that in the training academy they are taught to separate perpetrators into different rooms and tell them that each of them has turned their compatriot over to the cops.
