Protests at Amy Coney Barrett's Home Blood and Dolls Symbols of What's to Come

As the decision over the fate of Roe vs. Wade looms, pro-choice activists descended on the home of conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett Saturday ... dressed in blood-soaked clothing and holding dolls.

The group -- members of Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights -- traveled to the Justice's home in Falls Church, Virginia. The blood on the crotch area of their clothing symbolizes forced births if Roe is overturned.

There have been other demonstrations at the homes of other conservative justices, and it may well ramp up because the decision is expected any time now. Unless there is a radical shift, it seems the Court is poised to overturn the 50-year-old precedent, which gives women a Constitutionally-protected right to an abortion with certain ground rules.

Republican-led states around the country have enacted a flurry of new restrictions on abortion, LGBTQ and transgender youth rights, and discussion of critical race theory.
Here’s a look at some of the legislation that has passed this session, what’s next for the bills and what else is under consideration:
  • NEW ABORTION RESTRICTIONS in Republican led states that in some include felony charges for those attempting an abortion and even potentially giving the family of a rapist rights to sue. Furthermore,, some withing the GOP are seeking to ban morning after medication and even contraceptives.
  • NEW ANTI-LGBTQ RESTRICTIONS targeting trans youth and the families of trans youth, banning the teaching of any material related to sexual identity, restricting trans youths and their families' access to gender affirming healthcare, and laws that attempt to criminalize families of transgendered youths.
  • NEW ANTI DIVERSITY, ANTI "CRT" RESTRICTIONS prohibiting the teaching of so-called critical race theory in K-12 schools, prohibit or limit discussions about race in classrooms and prohibit schools from advocating so-called “divisive concepts,” or any discussion that makes people "feel anguish, guilt, or any other form of psychological distress” about their race.
  • NEW "ELECTION POLICE" legislation that would create a so-called "security office" to investigate so-called "election crimes" based upon the false and fraudulent claim that the 2020 election was rife with voter fraud.

The party of more government is trying to run every aspect of our lives right now.

Pro-life is not just opposing abortion, Vatican says after U.S. ruling

In a media editorial on the United States Supreme Court's ruling to end the constitutional right to abortion, Andrea Tornielli said those who oppose abortion could not pick and choose pro-life issues.

"Being for life, always, for example, means being concerned if the mortality rates of women due to motherhood increase," he wrote.

He cited statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing a rise in maternity mortality rates overall and that the rate was nearly three times higher for black women. "Being for life, always, means asking how to help women welcome new life," he wrote, citing an unsourced statistic that 75% of women who have abortions live in poverty or are low-wage earners.

He also cited statistics from the Harvard Review of Psychiatry showing that the United States has much lower rates of paid parental leave compared with other rich nations.

"Being for life, always, also means defending it against the threat of firearms, which unfortunately have become a leading cause of death of children and adolescents in the U.S." he wrote.
