Their labor was not stolen - it was compelled. The difference is this: "Stolen" implies it would have existed, but for the compulsion. It would not have.

The question remains. If American slaves are what made this country wealthy (as you claim), then why is the entire continent of Africa filled with the poorest countries of the world where they STILL use slavery? And wouldn't attempting to end THAT be a better directional outlet for your phony outrage rather than squealing about how horrible we still are in America despite ending slavery here generations ago?

Well, clearly the "more people who died defending slavery" didn't steal back anything. And, as far as the poor survivors stealing most of their wealth back, that is not plausible either. Foremost, because from whom would they steal it? Freed slaves? No, that's ridiculous. The Union? Nonsense. No, the southern aristocracy ceased to exist. Farms and plantations were left in total ruin, not only from war, but mostly from the men being at war for years and left crippled or dead. As for the compromise of 1877 - it simply permitted Union troops to finally withdraw. The Blacks had been freed for some time then, and there was nothing keeping them in the South, where attitudes were more bitter toward them. They could leave and did leave, migrating to the north.
But, by the 1870's going into the new century, black slave labor was no longer needed. Mechanization replaced some of the more profitable jobs slaves once performed. In the 1860's, we saw the advent of the steam tractor, advancements in the cotton gin began to eliminate a tremendous amount of labor in processing cotton, one of the few crops in the South following the Civil War. Many other labor saving farm machine came into play around this time like the spring-tooth harrow, air-seeder and other machines really eliminated the need for slave labor.
So, white people did not steal anything from Blacks, or from the North during this period of time. The truth is that many white folks who claim their roots are in the South are descendants of ancestors who migrated from the North over many decades to take advantage of opportunities in the South. You couldn't be more wrong about White people of today bearing any responsibility for what happened to Blacks during the slave era. You simply don't want to acknowledge what White People did for your ancestors. When the Lord, through Moses, freed the Hebrews from their Egyptian slave masters, they revered Moses and praised the Lord for their freedom. When White Americans sacrificed nearly everything, including their country, to free Black Slaves, Blacks continue to lay blame to innocent Whites, demand silly reparations, riot, loot, murder and steal as if they are entitled to all of this.
