Often the losers of tribal warfare given value through the slave trade. Before and after the slave trade such battlefield captures were generally killed, the women raped and absorbed. We have had four black people come through the office since I got here in mid-2015. 3 of the 4 were very solid employees. The fourth one was not exactly incompetent but not meant for the job. The job, in this case, is extremely repetitive. It is verifying and fact checking employer accounts. It uses outdated technology as well. It takes a unique individual to do a job where you spend 75% of your time calling up businesses and verifying the most finite of details such as what percentage of your business is dedicated to this or that.
