Yes, except on the home page. Do you use proxy servers?sootedupCyndi » 01 May 2022, 9:18 am » wrote: ↑ YES!! freeman. Now you have to log in. !!! it will say you do not have permission to view.
Is that what you see?
At the risk of sounding dumb. What ia a proxy server?
A remote server that makes it so your internet activity cannot be traced. Your activity goes from your computer, through a remote server in another state or country and then to, for example, this forum. So I don't get spammed and nobody can see what I do online because my trail stops at the remote server. If someone looks up my IP address it makes it look like I am in Texas, Oregon or even the Ukrane if I choose (at this moment in Houston Texas). News correspondents use it when they are in Islamic countries to get around snoops and censorship and such.sootedupCyndi » 01 May 2022, 9:46 am » wrote: ↑ At the risk of sounding dumb. If a person is concerned about being tracked, unfortunately some services keep records for up to 60 days in order to root out mass email spammers that abuse their service. The service I use has proprietary tech that makes it so they don't need to keep any records. So if the Feds hit them up for info, they simply don't have any to hand over.
Service I use is very smooth and costs me 39 bucks a year. I use:

You can't. It's very easy to initiate and you don't really have to think about it again, except to turn it on or off as desired.sootedupCyndi » 01 May 2022, 10:43 am » wrote: ↑ I am sure if i tried to do what you have.. I would F it up. LOL
Get rid of that crap. I've eliminated Google from our lives as much as possible since I believe it is the greatest force of evil on the planet.sootedupCyndi » 01 May 2022, 10:43 am » wrote: ↑ Ok. No. I had THREE browsers on this computer. chrome-edge and explorer.

How Google's ownership of weak or lazy minds works
Also have exclusively Apple phones in our family, a company that I still believe respects user's privacy.
Firefox has been a great browser for me (open source - no corporate profiteers).
And duck duck go burns your search history as soon as you log off. No record. No selling you to the highest bidder. So no annoying them trying to sell you stuff every time you go on your browser, that was barely incidental to your prior searches.
VPN - I believe that all of the decent VPN are paid services. Best to have a cheap ebay-bought internet-dedicated laptop that never touches your other devices.freeman » 01 May 2022, 10:01 am » wrote: ↑ A remote server that makes it so your internet activity cannot be traced. It's hard to be interested in posting new material to a site that goes down so much. I think some site owners believe that their website is a one-way street - they are providing a site for people to express their views without charge (just asking for donations). What they should be focusing on, rather than hitting everyone up for money, donations, etc, is enticing people who write interesting content to post on their sites. Good, original content is the lifeblood of these forums.
As for ads, that's what it's all about, monetizing what you've created. You can either have ads or you can rely on donations. Or, you are just rich and don't care about generating revenue, which is ok too.
