Because:

• If its an old thread created by you (the resurrector), and you keep resurrecting it, without anyone having any interest in it, it is irrelevant, the prior posts are beyond stale and it is simply done to annoy.  In other words, the resurrector is being a Troll. 
• If someone is resurrecting an old thread started by someone else, 99.99% of the time, it is Spam.  Spammers and Trolls resurrect old threads to spread useless links to other websites, or just to Troll - i.e. flood irrelevant topics on the front page.

Many forums have rules against resurrecting old threads (this one has no such rule).  There usually needs to be a good reason given in the resurrecting post as to why its being called up for comment again.  These forums will tell you that it is preferred that you simply start a new thread about the same thing as opposed to resurrecting an old thread where many members who posted are no longer active.

While there is no rule against doing what you did, it is appropriate to call you out on it and ask why you did it.  To just be a Troll?  Or, for some legitimate reason.

No, that's not possible.  Somehow, you found that old thread; a thread started by Jinn Martini.  Jinn hasn't even posted here for about a year, maybe more. 

You had to do some deep digging to find it.  It's not like that thread was one, two or even 3 pages deep.   See, that's the thing about these really old threads - you had to go looking for it to resurrect it.  You didn't just see it, read it and think  "oh, I have something relevant to say about this".
